Members of Team Akiko took part in the Peace Memorial Ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombing.
We were deeply moved by the Mayor’s Peace Declaration and the Children’s Peace Pledge, especially the messages: “Find what you can do and take action,” and “Even the smallest actions can eventually lead to world peace.” These words encouraged us to keep moving forward. Once again, we reminded of the significance of quietly and steadily passing on the stories of the atomic bombing, and we renew our commitment to continue these efforts.
Flowers were being distributed, so we offered them in remembrance.
Although we have attended the ceremony several times in the past, this was the first time we could spend the day at a more relaxed pace.
It was reminded that the event is supported not only by the many city officials on duty but also by numerous volunteers and organizations.
